Job Summary:

The Juvenile Case Manager will professionally assess supervise and guide children who have been charged with a crime or are otherwise demonstrating predelinquent behaviors.

Assesses each childs situation and needs based on school police and/or court reports; identifies a variety of resources and methods to help juveniles avoid committing more crimes and provides opportunities to assist them in becoming responsible citizens.

Coordinates a variety of services such as crisis intervention educational services family counseling parenting skills and youth mentoring.

Acts as liaison with juveniles their families the courts and other involved agencies.

Supervises and provides counsel to juveniles on courtordered probation; sets guidelines for the behavior and actions of juveniles and recommends incarceration or reincarceration when those guidelines are not met.

Establishes and maintains detailed confidential records for each child; evaluates behavior during probation and makes related recommendations to juvenile court.

Maintains current knowledge and list of community resources and services available to assist and rehabilitate juveniles and their families.

Performs other related duties as assigned.
Job Duties/Responsibilities/Functions (including but not limited to)

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Excellent organizational and criticalthinking skills.

Ability to stay calm in difficult and emotional situations and to counsel troubled youth and their families.

Understanding of laws and regulations pertaining to the custody welfare protection and detention of juvenile offenders.

Thorough understanding of state and local directives and guidelines regarding juvenile case management.

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
