Job Description
Job Title: COBOL Developer(US Citizens only)
Location: Remote
We are currently seeking candidates who meet the following qualifications:
Responsibilities:- Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
- Design develop test and maintain COBOL programs on mainframe systems.
- Perform debugging troubleshooting and optimization of existing COBOL applications.
- Collaborate with business analysts product managers and endusers to gather requirements and propose solutions.
- Ensure compliance with organizational standards including coding practices and documentation.
- Participate in code reviews to ensure quality and adherence to best practices.
- Maintain and enhance legacy systems while ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
- Provide production support including incident management and root cause analysis.
- Document technical designs application workflows and system processes.
- Stay updated on advancements in mainframe and COBOL technologies to recommend improvements.
- Strong experience in COBOL JCL VSAM and CICS programming in a mainframe environment.
- Knowledge of relational databases (DB2 SQL) and file structures.
- Experience with batch processing and realtime transaction systems.
- Experience with mainframe tools like TSO ISPF and IBM utilities.
- Proficient in debugging tools such as AbendAID or similar.
- Understanding of SDLC processes and methodologies including Agile and Waterfall.
- Excellent problemsolving analytical and communication skills.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Experience in modernization or migration of mainframe systems.
- Experience with DevOps practices and tools in a mainframe context.
- Knowledge of scripting languages or integration tools for mainframe systems.
- Exposure to other programming languages like Java or Python is a plus.
- Federal Experience is a plus.
- Required Security clearance.
