A school district is seeking to hire a Payroll Accountant. Looking to bring someone on who can help with Payroll Reconciliations & Deductions 1099 s and Compliance. They were working on MUNIS but have been using their own proprietary cloud ERP system since October. Additionally they process payroll through HARPERS and there are about 500 employees in the district. The ideal candidate has payroll reconciliation experience possesses advanced Excel skills and has relevant municipality or school industry experience (not required).
Responsibilities:
- Process all payrolls on a weekly basis
- Review all timesheets and calculate payroll to include overtime
- Prepare 1099 s for multiple employers and entities
- Managing 401K s including calculating and making contributions and processing loan repayments
- Review employment contracts
- Onboard new employees
- Benefits management including family medical leave
- Prepare NDA s and assist with the offboarding process
Requirements
- Bachelor s degree required
- 68 years of payroll experience
- General accounting experience a plus
- Municipality or school industry experience
Associates Degree preferred. Proficient with MS Office, with an emphasis on Excel spreadsheets and data entry skills. Minimum of 2 years experience with Accounts Payable.. Excellent written and verbal communication skills Proven excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work successfully in a team environment. Attention to detail and accuracy. Judgment, and analyzing information. Communication skills, vendor relationships Problem-solving skills Must be able to prioritize and meet deadlines.
