Job Description

Assist the Fire Management Officer(FMO) in directing a fire management program with a high complexity level. The Assistant Fire Management Officer(AFMO) Fuels is responsible for supervision direction and operation of the Fuels section consisting of Fuels Planners Fuels Techs Fuels Crew Monitors and Heavy Equipment. Assist FMO in planning developing implementing coordinating evaluating Integrated fire management program to achieve resource management objectives. Provide technical guidance program development and review plan coordinate and monitor the fire management program and operations using data from various sources within the incumbents area of responsibility.



Requirements

Other responsibilities Updating and revising annual operating plans annual budget requests Hazard Fuels Reduction Reserve Treaty Rights Lands Program Interior Fuels and Postfire Reporting Systems efficient in Fuels Management and operating procedures pertaining to planned and unplanned events. Qualification Prescribed Burn Boss type 2 Incident Commander Type 4 or Type 3. This is an alcohol/drug testing designated position. Valid Oregon Driver s license is required and background check with Federal Tribal and State Law Enforcement.
