As part of their continued focus on operational excellence and strategic project delivery they are seeking an experienced Head of PMO to lead and oversee their Program Management Office.
Role Summary:
The Head of PMO will be instrumental in shaping the direction governance and effectiveness of the Program Management Office. This is a seniorlevel role requiring strategic vision leadership and a proven track record of delivering complex highimpact projects. The successful candidate will work closely with senior leadership to align project initiatives with the organisations strategic goals and ensure delivery excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership:
- Develop and implement a robust PMO strategy aligned with organisational priorities.
- Lead mentor and inspire a team of project managers fostering a culture of excellence and accountability.
- Provide expert advice to senior management on portfolio priorities and risk mitigation.
Governance and Frameworks:
- Establish and maintain governance frameworks policies and best practices for project delivery.
- Develop and manage systems to monitor performance ensuring transparency and accountability.
- Ensure compliance with internal and external regulatory standards.
Portfolio and Program Management:
- Oversee the management of a diverse project portfolio balancing resources with strategic objectives.
- Provide guidance on project scoping budgeting and resource allocation.
- Monitor project outcomes ensuring ontime onbudget and highquality delivery.
Stakeholder Engagement:
- Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure alignment and collaboration.
- Act as the key point of contact for escalations and strategic discussions.
- Effectively communicate project impacts and benefits to senior leaders and stakeholders.
Skills and Experience Required:
Essential:
- Proven experience in a seniorlevel PMO leadership role ideally within largescale infrastructure transportation or IT environments.
- Strong expertise in project management methodologies (e.g. Agile Waterfall PRINCE2).
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects and teams across diverse functions.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills with a focus on delivering measurable outcomes.
You will need:
- Professional certification in project management (PMP PgMP or equivalent).
- Experience in digital transformation or operational technology projects is a distinct advantage.
