Job Description
We are seeking an Engineering Manager. The ideal candidate will have 8 years of experience building cuttingedge solutions at scale extensive knowledge of objectoriented programming design patterns and best practices along with a proven track record in CI/CD automation and deploying large systems. They should possess excellent communication skills strong analytical thinking and the ability to mentor and develop engineering talent effectively. Bonus points for experience with EMV payments and a passion for empowering African businesses to succeed. This role provides an opportunity to work on innovative technology as part of a missiondriven team dedicated to accelerating digital payments in Africa supported by Stripes global expertise and resources.
What does the job involve
- Leading and inspiring talented engineers to deliver endtoend complex software solutions in a missioncritical environment.
- Developing and growing engineering talent through mentoring coaching and retention strategies.
- Managing planning and execution to deliver value to customers.
- Promoting knowledge sharing and collaboration between teams.
- Driving success through partnerships with product and other stakeholders.
- Improving systems and reducing complexity through crossteam initiatives.
- Owning organizational practices and processes with a commitment to continuous improvement.
Qualifications
- Solid experience leading crossfunctional teams and working on diverse architectures.
- Handson experience in writing unit integration and UI tests.
- Highquality working standards with a structured approach.
- Proficiency in monitoring alerting performance tuning and security best practices.
- Experience with EMV payments (Bonus).
- Passion for helping African businesses thrive through innovative products.
- Demonstrated ability to mentor and transfer knowledge effectively.
