Job Description

Hangzhou Dipont School of Arts and Science (formerly RDFZ Kings College School Hangzhou) is seeking to appoint a Head of Key Stage 1 and 2 to join King s College International School Hangzhou for an August 2025 start.

KCIS is a warm and collegiate international learning community in China looking to appoint a Head of Key Stage 1/2 to help lead our Primarys section recent successful development.

  • Our teaching staff come from over 10 different countries.
  • We have 130 students across Grades 110.
  • Our student body represents over 20 different nationalities.
  • We follow the English National Curriculum and IGCSE pathway.

The position will see you lead a team of primary teachers from all over the world. You will teach small classes (average size: 13) working with highly engaged students many of whom have nativelevel English and supportive parents. We offer the English National Curriculum for Grades 18 with students progressing to IGCSE between Grades 9 and 10.

Our latest satisfaction surveys show overwhelming approval with both students and parents rating us well over 90%. This is a testament to the strong sense of community and collaboration we ve fostered. Furthermore more than 40% of our students rank in the top 5% globally in English Maths and Science as measured by GL Assessments progress tests.

All the A grades in the world mean nothing if our students do not have the kindness manners and resilience needed to back them up. In the recent China National School awards we were runners up in the Pastoral Education category: underpinning our commitment to this ethos.

Requirements

  • Bachelor s degree in Education or subjectrelated field; Master s degree preferred
  • A domestic or international teaching licence; PGCE or QTS preferred
  • At least two years of fulltime teaching experience
  • Strong familiarity with the English National Curriculum is desirable
  • A studentcentered approach to learning and demonstrated interest in student development and optimism for students ability to learn and grow
  • High levels of professionalism and commitment to improvement compassion and enthusiasm and a proactive cando attitude
  • Confident with onlinelearning and management platforms
