Our client specializes in unique woodfire barbeque dining experience where live cooking and premium ingredients come together to create memorable meals. They are looking for a talented and experienced Head Chef to lead the kitchen and elevate their barbeque offerings.
Job Overview:
The Head Chef will oversee all kitchen operations develop creative barbeque menus and ensure a high standard of food quality and presentation. This is a leadership role that demands a combination of culinary skill creativity and team management.

Key Responsibilities:
- Menu Development & Innovation:
- Create design and update barbeque menus incorporating woodfire cooking techniques to deliver bold authentic flavors.
- Develop seasonal dishes and special menu items that showcase the restaurants unique offerings.
- Ensure all dishes are prepared to the highest quality focusing on presentation flavor and consistency.
- Woodfire Cooking Expertise:
- Oversee the use of woodfire grills smokers and other barbeque equipment ensuring the correct use of fire heat and cooking times.
- Continuously experiment with different wood types grilling methods and marination techniques to enhance the flavors of the dishes.
- Team Leadership & Development:
- Lead train and mentor the kitchen team fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
- Ensure the kitchen staff is wellversed in barbeque and woodfire cooking techniques maintaining a high level of culinary knowledge and expertise.
- Manage the performance and growth of all kitchen staff conducting regular evaluations and providing constructive feedback.
- Quality Control & Food Safety:
- Maintain the highest standards of food safety cleanliness and hygiene within the kitchen at all times.
- Monitor food quality and consistency ensuring that all dishes meet the restaurants standards before reaching the guests.
- Implement and enforce health and safety regulations to ensure a safe kitchen environment.
- Inventory & Cost Management:
- Manage inventory levels control food costs and minimize waste by ensuring efficient kitchen operations.
- Coordinate with suppliers to source highquality ingredients particularly fresh meats vegetables and wood for grilling.
- Regularly assess stock levels plan purchases and manage the kitchens budget.
- Collaboration & Guest Experience:
- Collaborate with the frontofhouse team to ensure seamless communication between the kitchen and dining area.
- Participate in special events live cooking demonstrations and guest interactions to enhance the dining experience.
- Respond to guest feedback and adjust dishes or recipes as needed to meet customer preferences.
- Operational Efficiency:
- Plan kitchen workflows to ensure that food is prepared in a timely manner while maintaining high standards of quality.
- Monitor kitchen equipment ensuring proper maintenance and functionality for woodfire and grilling operations.
- Create and implement operational strategies to streamline kitchen processes and improve efficiency.
Qualifications & Skills:
- A degree or diploma in Culinary Arts Culinary Management or a related field is preferred.
- Certification in food safety and hygiene is required
- Proven experience as a Head Chef or Executive Chef preferably in a barbeque or woodfirefocused dining establishment. (Not a must)
- Creative culinary skills with the ability to design and execute innovative menus.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and develop a highperforming kitchen team.
- Excellent knowledge of kitchen operations food safety standards and sanitation regulations.
- Strong organizational and time management skills to manage multiple kitchen functions efficiently.
- Ability to work under pressure adapt to changing circumstances and ensure a smooth operation during peak hours.
