What you will be doing:
Reporting to the Shipping & Receiving Manager responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Assisting all departments in the distribution of supplies and products while accounting for all goods from food stores and receiving areas.
- Unloading food & beverage products from delivery trucks daily.
- Ensure all products received are properly stored while maintaining rotation and storage areas fridges & freezers.
- Working closely with the Executive Chef & Executive Sous Chef to maintain product freshness and rotation (FIFO).
- Participation in monthly inventory counts & daily spot checks.
- Unload merchandise from delivery trucks and assist loading of the hotels truck.
- Familiarity of merchandise used within the hotel
- Daily cleaning of storage areas fridges & freezers.
- Maintain personal physical health & safety awareness in moving and lifting stock
- Ensure a clean and safe working environment and actively participate in health and safety initiatives
- Adhere to all environmental policies and programs as required
- Other reasonable duties as assigned
Qualifications :
Your experience and skills include:
- Selfmotivated with the ability to work with little supervision
- Food & Beverage knowledge (Meats Produce Dry Goods Etc.) an asset.
- Computer knowledge and experience with windows based applications
- Organizational and communication skills
- Previous warehouse experience an asset
- Excellent mathematical skills and attention to detail
- Knowledge of hotel and department operations an asset
- Must be physically capable of meeting demands of the position: standing walking bending lifting 80lbs and pushing carts ranging from 500lbs 1000lbs
