A PGT (Post Graduate Teacher) Chemistry is an educator who specializes in teaching Chemistry at the senior secondary level (typically grades 11 and 12) in schools or educational institutions. This position requires indepth knowledge of the subject and the ability to deliver complex concepts in an understandable manner to students.
Key Responsibilities:
Teaching and Instruction:
- Plan and deliver lessons in Chemistry covering topics such as organic chemistry inorganic chemistry physical chemistry and analytical chemistry.
- Develop and implement course plans and teach the syllabus prescribed by the educational board (CBSE ICSE or state boards).
- Use a variety of teaching methods such as lectures demonstrations experiments and multimedia presentations to make learning engaging.
- Provide practical training in Chemistry labs ensuring safety protocols are followed during experiments.
Student Assessment:
- Design and evaluate assignments quizzes projects and examinations.
- Provide regular feedback to students on their progress strengths and areas needing improvement.
- Prepare and administer periodic tests midterm exams and final exams to assess students knowledge.
- Track and maintain detailed records of student performance and report to management as necessary.
Curriculum Development:
- Update and develop new course materials assignments and resources in line with the latest syllabus and academic requirements.
- Keep up with the latest trends and advancements in the field of Chemistry to ensure the content is relevant and uptodate.
Classroom Management:
- Maintain discipline and create a positive learning environment in the classroom.
- Manage student behavior ensuring all students remain engaged and follow the classroom rules.
Student Guidance and Mentorship:
- Assist students with individual learning needs or difficulties in the subject.
- Provide career guidance for students interested in pursuing Chemistryrelated fields in higher education.
- Offer extra lessons or support outside of regular school hours for students who need additional help.
Requirements
M.Sc Chemistry and B.Ed with 2to3 years of teaching
preferably in the education secteacher development needs Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills to manage training initiatives Analytical skills to assess training effectiveness and implement improvements Familiarity with CBSE guidelines and curriculum will be an added advantage
