Role: Data Analyst
Location: Remote/Washington D.C. (as required)
Duration: 12 Months Contract
Position Overview:
The client seeks a Data Analyst to support the Research and Needs Assessment for the USIP.org website. The Data Analyst will be responsible for gathering analyzing and interpreting data from various sources to provide actionable insights about website performance user behavior and content engagement. This role will play a critical part in guiding the strategic direction for potential website improvements.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Data Collection and Integration
Extract clean and consolidate data from multiple sources including Google Analytics internal survey responses and external research.
Identify and acquire additional data as needed to support project goals.
2. Website Analytics
Analyze website traffic patterns user navigation paths and engagement metrics to understand how visitors interact with the site.
Evaluate key performance indicators (KPIs) such as bounce rates session durations and conversion rates to measure website effectiveness.
3. Audience Segmentation
Conduct segmentation analysis to understand diverse user groups including internal staff external stakeholders and global audiences.
Identify behavioral patterns and user personas to inform recommendations.
4. Performance Metrics and SEO Analysis
Collaborate with technical and UX teams to assess technical performance metrics including load times mobile responsiveness and SEO ranking factors.
Provide insights into search engine performance and recommend optimization strategies.
5. Accessibility and Comparative Analysis
Work with the project team to assess accessibility metrics and ensure compliance with standards such as WCAG.
Benchmark USIP.org against similar organizations to identify trends best practices and areas for improvement.
6. Reporting and Visualization
Create comprehensive reports and dashboards to communicate findings clearly to stakeholders.
Develop data visualizations that highlight trends challenges and opportunities for improvement.
7. Collaboration and Recommendations
Work closely with the project team to align data insights with project objectives and deliverables.
Provide actionable recommendations based on data analysis to enhance the websites performance and user experience.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelors degree in Data Analytics Statistics Computer Science or a related field (Masters preferred).
Experience:
3 years of experience in data analysis preferably related to website performance or user behavior.
Handson experience with analytics tools such as Google Analytics (GA4) Google Data Studio or Tableau.
Familiarity with content management systems like Drupal is a plus.
Skills:
Proficiency in SQL Python or R for data analysis and manipulation.
Strong skills in data visualization tools like Tableau Power BI or Google Data Studio.
Indepth understanding of website performance metrics SEO and audience segmentation techniques.
Excellent analytical and problemsolving skills with the ability to present complex data clearly.
Knowledge of accessibility standards and best practices is a plus.
