Job Description

We are seeking a talented and passionate Junior Sous Chef to join our culinary team at Pullman London St Pancras. As a key member of our kitchen staff you will assist in overseeing daily operations ensuring the highest standards of food quality and contributing to the overall success of our dining experience.

  • Assist the Executive Chef and Sous Chef in managing kitchen operations and staff
  • Ensure consistent food quality and presentation across all dishes
  • Supervise and participate in food preparation cooking and plating
  • Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering supplies
  • Implement and maintain food safety and hygiene standards
  • Collaborate with the culinary team to develop new menu items and seasonal specials
  • Train and mentor junior kitchen staff to improve their skills and efficiency
  • Assist in cost control measures including minimizing food waste and optimizing ingredient usage
  • Ensure proper equipment maintenance and cleanliness in the kitchen
  • Contribute to menu planning and recipe development
  • Participate in food tasting sessions and quality control checks

Qualifications :

  • Minimum Professional Certificate in a Culinaryrelated field
  • At least 4 years of experience in the Food & Beverage industry preferably in a hotel or upscale restaurant setting
  • Strong culinary skills and knowledge of various cooking techniques
  • Excellent understanding of food safety standards and HACCP guidelines
  • Proven experience in kitchen management and staff supervision
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fastpaced highpressure environment
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Proficiency in menu planning recipe development and cost control
  • Detailoriented with a focus on food quality and presentation
  • Innovative approach to culinary trends and techniques
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team
  • Customerfocused mindset with a commitment to delivering exceptional dining experiences
  • Fluency in English; additional languages are a plus
