Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintain deep technical knowledge of project execution methodology.
- Evaluate contracts quotations and make legal/technical recommendations.
- Be commercially astute and shall be capable of taking up assignments in all aspects of contracts and project control including cost control.
- Be a competent negotiator.
- Advise Planning Department Project Manager and Operations Department about contractual rights and obligations.
- Evaluate & monitor contract performance to determine necessity for amendments or extensions of contracts.
- Attend negotiation meetings with clients.
- Coordination with Estimation/Proposals team for the review of bid preparation process from time to time.
- Exercise authority at the level determined by management for the position.
- Establish control procedures standards and complete the assigned tasks within the stipulated time frame.
- Be focused on the needs of the customer/client and strive to exceed their expectations.
- Develop and maintain harmonious working relationship between subordinates and superiors.
- Critical thinking using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions to choose the most appropriate one.
- Complex problem solving identifying complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.
Qualification/Experience:
- Bachelor degree inEngineering/Law.
- Additional engineering/legal background as applicable is an advantage.
- 15 to 20 years' experience in handling various types of contracts and agreements including review drafting negotiation post award contract administration and dispute resolution.
- Estimation experience in the Oil & Gas Industry and knowledge of estimation norms is preferable.
- Previous work site experience in technical and supervisory Capacities.
- Commercial and Contractual knowledge.
- Deep knowledge of project execution methodology.
- Strong editorial and analysis skills to express ideas and conclusions clearly and concisely.
Skills and Knowledge:
- Must have sound knowledge in drafting and administration of the contracts and subcontracts including the assessment of variations and recommendations for the approval of progress claims referring disputed issues to management for determination.
- Interpretation of contracts and provision of opinion on Company's rights and obligations.
- Formulation presentation and negotiation of variations claims and disputes.
- Participate in prebid and post award commercial risk reviews.
- Should be familiar with formulation and negotiation of commercial terms for MOUs contracts and subcontracts.
- Should be able to determine necessary subcontract prequalification requirements assess subcontractor submissions negotiate and administer subcontracts.
- Able to identify extra works and develop cost proposals prepare monthly valuations settle final accounts.
- Management of all contracts and liaising with client representatives subcontractor representatives etc.
- Negotiation of contract terms and providing contractual and commercial support to other departments within the Company.
- Good knowledge of legal aspects in the contracts and other legal documents.
