You will be updated with latest job alerts via emailQatar Aviation Services – Cargo is currently recruiting for Cargo Customer Service Agent to be based in Doha, Qatar. You will be responsible to Support the business in complying with QR and QAS Safety policies: in achieving the health & safety objectives defined; and in obtaining or maintaining Safety certifications. To promote a safety culture within the company and to play an active role in reducing hazards and preventing accidents, by means of communication, monitoring, reporting and analyzing. Assists the Safety Manager in coordinating the work of a team of Safety Officers and act as an ambassador to safe practices. Operational Accountabilities • Design/ create communication materials, conduct short trainings and deliver briefings to raise staff awareness on health and safety topics and issues. • Produce data/ information for monthly safety-review meeting presentations. • Respond to incidents and accidents to collect information needed for the investigation, to escalate the matter if needed to the appropriate level, and to coordinate the response with other organizations, external agencies and authorities as needed. • Investigate incidents and accidents to identify safety gaps and to suggest corrective actions to close them. Propose and write new procedures or amendments to existing ones to continuously improve the safety management system or to raise the level of control over risks in the company. • To conduct daily inspections of the operations, raise findings, coach staff, write reports and escalate issues, if required. • Compile reports and analysis of safety information available or gathered. • Track, follow up and close actions deriving from investigations, inspections, risk assessments etc. Perform written risks assessments according to the company's standard as part of the QR/ QAS safety management system. • Ensures implementation of QAS Cargo Safety Manual and QR OHS & Fire Manual standards into everyday operations, along with regulatory and Aviation Health and Safety requirements. • Conducts internal Safety Audits within the QAS Cargo operations to identify potential hazards within the workplace and make recommendations for controls to the appropriate department for implementation. Plans, coordinates and maintains a proactive Risk Assessment schedule with the safety officers and relevant departments. • Provides ideas and suggestions in developing and communicating the yearly Health, Safety and Wellness promotions/communications. • Cooperates with all internal and external stakeholders (HIA, LINC, LODIGE, Airport rescue) to ensure a consistent level of compliance with the requirements during day to day operation and support the company during internal and external audits. • Coordinates the team of safety officers by providing direction and hands on approach to oversight of operational activities, • Assists in planning and executing emergency response exercises to test the emergency response plans and implements any changes or feedback post exercise to ensure continuous improvement. • Works closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure robustness of emergency response plans, high quality accident investigation reports, Risk assessments and operational procedures in line with IATA, IGOM and best industry practices. • Contributes to continued development and achieving Safety Performance Indicators (SPI) by identifying and mitigating potential risk and highlighting areas for improvement based on trend analysis. • Actively leads the team in promoting just culture across all areas of the organization by offering advice to staff members of the management team, facilitating fair review of the accountability post incident. • Reviews planned safety inspections, OHS training to ensure SPI's are progressing as planned and address the observed deviations with Safety manager. • Reviews Safety related reports such as Injured on Duty/ Voluntary Hazard Reports and Customer Incident reports and ensure that they are thoroughly investigated and logged in to AQD for wider investigation and close out. • Regular communicates and liaison with stakeholders including QR Cargo, QAS PTC and QR Group Safety and Security. • Stays abreast of relevant local and international regulations to ensure recency in emerging safety best practices and legislation. • Performs other department duties related to his/her position as directed by the Head of the Department. Qualifications • High School Qualification / Vocational Qualification /Diploma or Equivalent (Type of Diploma Based on Role) with Minimum 5 years of job-related experience OR • Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent with Minimum 4 years of job-related experience • Air cargo handling/warehouse management experience Job Specific Skills • Excellent decision making, problem solving and collaboration skills • Skilled in drafting audit reports and recommending correction actions • Ability to be assertive during conflict situation • Ability to develop standard operating procedures • NEBOSH Diploma Qualification
