Job Description: Senior Risk Consulting Associate
Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic Senior Risk Consulting Associate to join our consulting team. In this role you will lead highimpact risk management projects provide actionable insights and guide clients in identifying assessing and managing risks across operational financial regulatory and strategic domains. As a Senior Associate you will play a key role in delivering customized risk solutions building strong client relationships and mentoring junior consultants. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work with diverse industries and to contribute to the overall success of clients risk management strategies.
Key Responsibilities: Risk Strategy and Advisory:
- Lead the development and implementation of comprehensive risk management strategies tailored to client needs addressing a wide range of risks (e.g. operational financial regulatory cybersecurity).
- Work closely with senior leadership to advise clients on enhancing their risk culture improving risk governance and aligning risk management strategies with business objectives.
- Assist clients in defining and refining their risk appetite and tolerance levels to guide decisionmaking.
Risk Assessments and Mitigation:
- Lead complex risk assessments to identify and evaluate potential risks across clients operations processes and external environments.
- Develop and apply risk models and frameworks to measure risk exposure develop mitigation strategies and reduce potential losses.
- Guide clients on implementing effective risk mitigation strategies and designing internal controls to address identified vulnerabilities.
Regulatory and Compliance Support:
- Advise clients on navigating regulatory changes and ensuring compliance with industry standards laws and regulations.
- Support clients in preparing for audits and regulatory inspections ensuring their risk management frameworks align with required standards.
- Assist clients with the development of compliance reporting and risk reporting to meet regulatory and industry requirements.
Risk Monitoring and Reporting:
- Oversee the establishment of ongoing risk monitoring processes and the use of key risk indicators (KRIs) to ensure continuous monitoring of risk exposures.
- Prepare comprehensive reports and presentations for clients clearly communicating the status of risk management activities and recommending adjustments where necessary.
- Collaborate with clients to ensure that risk management strategies are effectively implemented and are providing the desired outcomes.
Client Engagement and Relationship Management:
- Build and maintain strong trustbased relationships with senior client stakeholders positioning yourself as a key advisor in managing and mitigating risks.
- Lead client meetings presenting findings and guiding the implementation of strategic recommendations.
- Develop longterm partnerships with clients by identifying new opportunities for enhancing their risk management framework.
Research and Thought Leadership:
- Stay abreast of emerging trends regulatory developments and best practices in risk management and incorporate these insights into client solutions.
- Conduct research on industryspecific risks competitive landscapes and market dynamics to inform client strategies.
- Contribute to the firms thought leadership by preparing white papers case studies and research reports on key risk management topics.
Leadership and Team Development:
- Mentor and guide junior consultants providing technical expertise and support to develop their skills in risk management and consulting.
- Lead project teams ensuring the successful delivery of consulting projects and the development of innovative risk solutions.
- Actively contribute to the firms internal knowledge base sharing insights and methodologies with the broader team.
Qualifications: Educational Background:
- Bachelors degree in Risk Management Finance Economics Business Administration or a related field (required).
- Advanced degree (e.g. MBA Masters in Risk Management or related) or professional certifications such as CFA FRM PRM or CERA are highly preferred.
Professional Experience:
- 5 7 years of experience in risk consulting enterprise risk management or a related field.
- Proven track record of managing complex risk projects leading risk assessments and developing risk mitigation strategies.
- Experience with regulatory compliance frameworks (e.g. SOX GDPR Basel III) and risk management standards (e.g. COSO ISO 31000) is essential.
Skills and Competencies:
- Strong expertise in risk management frameworks tools and techniques.
- Advanced analytical and problemsolving skills with the ability to build and implement risk models conduct scenario analysis and use datadriven insights.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex risk data and strategies to senior clients.
