Key Responsibilities
1. Financial Reporting and Analysis: Prepare and analyze monthly quarterly and annual financial statements. Provide financial analysis and insights to senior management including variance analysis and key performance indicators (KPIs). Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations. 2. Budgeting and Forecasting: Lead the budgeting and forecasting processes collaborating with department heads and senior management. Monitor budget performance and provide recommendations for adjustments as needed. 3. Financial Planning and Strategy: Contribute to the development of the organizations financial strategies and objectives. Identify opportunities for cost savings revenue enhancement and financial growth. 4. Cash Flow Management: Manage cash flow by forecasting cash needs and optimizing working capital. Oversee banking relationships and cash management activities. 5. Financial Compliance: Ensure compliance with tax regulations and oversee the preparation and filing of tax returns. Coordinate with external auditors and regulatory bodies during financial audits and inspections. 6. Team Management: Lead and mentor the finance team including accountants and financial analysts. Set performance goals conduct performance reviews and provide ongoing professional development. 7. Internal Controls: Develop and maintain strong internal controls and financial procedures. Identify and mitigate financial risks. 8. Financial Systems and Technology: Evaluate and implement financial systems and technologies to improve efficiency and accuracy. Oversee the maintenance and integration of financial software and tools. 9. Financial Reporting Compliance: Ensure timely and accurate submission of financial reports to regulatory bodies and stakeholders. 10. Cost Management: Monitor and control operating expenses identifying opportunities for cost reduction. Implement cost control measures and monitor their effectiveness. 11. Treasury and Investments: Manage treasury functions including investments debt and cash management. Optimize investment strategies to maximize returns while managing risk. 12. Payroll Management Oversee payroll processing to ensure accuracy compliance and timely distribution. Implement and maintain payroll policies procedures and controls.
Requirements
Skills and Competency Requirements
Bachelors degree in Finance Accounting or a related field from a reputable university. (Masters degree ICAN or ACCA certification preferred). Proven experience as a Financial Controller or a similar senior finance role. Strong knowledge of accounting principles financial regulations and reporting standards. Excellent financial analysis forecasting and budgeting skills. Proficiency in financial software and ERP systems. Exceptional leadership and team management abilities.
