Job Title: Quality Control Manager
The Quality Control Manager plays a pivotal role in overseeing the quality assurance efforts of construction projects. This position provides leadership guidance and technical expertise to ensure that all qualityrelated processes are executed effectively across the entire project. The Manager is responsible for implementing and enforcing quality control standards procedures and policies to ensure compliance and maintain highquality outcomes. The role also involves collaborating with the project management team and subcontractors to achieve superior quality performance and project success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and oversee quality control strategies systems and practices to ensure that all project work meets or exceeds required standards.
- Collaborate with project management teams including superintendents and subcontractors to establish efficient processes that guarantee 100% compliance with project specifications and quality standards.
- Foster an environment of continuous improvement promoting the importance of quality as a core value within the organization and among project stakeholders.
- Maintain effective communication and relationships with engineers consultants and industry professionals.
- Assist in the creation and implementation of projectspecific quality management plans ensuring alignment with client requirements.
- Provide support to teams ensuring adherence to the quality management plan and tracking progress against set goals.
- Manage system templates for project quality control activities and ensure the proper implementation of those systems throughout the project lifecycle.
- Conduct site inspections and provide recommendations for improvements ensuring compliance with specifications and standards.
- Review contract documents specifications and reference codes to ensure alignment with quality standards.
- Lead the preparation and execution of preparatory meetings and quality control reviews.
- Provide training guidance and support to project teams on identifying and mitigating quality risks.
- Support the identification and resolution of qualityrelated issues including the documentation of corrective actions.
- Monitor and report on the quality of materials subcontractor work and overall project compliance.
- Oversee and ensure the proper documentation of all inspections tests and qualityrelated activities in accordance with established standards.
Qualifications:
- Extensive knowledge of Construction Standards Best Practices and the International Building Code.
- Handson experience managing a diverse range of construction projects and understanding of projectspecific quality requirements.
- Strong leadership and delegation skills with the ability to supervise and evaluate team performance effectively.
- Exceptional analytical and problemsolving abilities.
- Wellorganized with a methodical approach to managing tasks and quality assurance processes.
- Proficient in Procore Viewpoint SharePoint and MS Office suite.
- A degree in Quality Management Construction Management Engineering or a related field.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Act as the primary advocate for quality control within the organization ensuring that ethical standards and core values are maintained throughout the project.
- Ensure that quality control activities and reports are conducted and submitted in accordance with project specifications.
- Supervise the Three Phase Inspection process ensuring that inspections are carried out according to project plans and quality requirements.
- Regularly chair quality meetings with both internal and external stakeholders addressing quality concerns and facilitating solutions.
- Oversee the proper handling and storage of all project materials to ensure conformance to the approved submittals.
- Review and approve shop drawings and submittals ensuring their alignment with project requirements.
- Maintain clear and accurate records documenting all quality control activities and ensure proper corrective actions are taken when necessary.
- Engage closely with the Quality and Construction Science Departments to integrate technological advancements that support operational excellence and mitigate project risks.
