Job Description
Position Title: Cloud Operations Engineer (US Citizens Only)
Location: Remote
We are currently seeking candidates who meet the following qualifications:
Responsibilities:
- Design implement and manage scalable cloud infrastructure to ensure high availability performance and reliability of cloudbased applications and services.
- Collaborate with development operations and product teams to define and manage cloud architecture requirements ensuring seamless integration with business systems and applications.
- Implement and automate cloudbased solutions using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform CloudFormation or Ansible.
- Manage cloud resources and services across AWS Azure or Google Cloud platforms to optimize performance security and cost efficiency.
- Develop and maintain cloud monitoring alerting and logging systems to provide proactive system management and operational visibility.
- Troubleshoot and resolve cloud infrastructure issues ensuring minimal downtime and swift resolution to incidents or outages.
- Ensure that cloud systems are designed with high availability fault tolerance and scalability to meet the needs of businesscritical applications.
- Conduct capacity planning and cost optimization exercises ensuring the efficient use of cloud resources and aligning cloud spend with business goals.
- Implement and maintain security controls for cloud infrastructure ensuring compliance with organizational security standards and regulatory requirements (e.g. HIPAA SOC2 GDPR).
- Collaborate with security teams to implement secure cloud configurations including identity and access management (IAM) encryption and data protection mechanisms.
- Develop and maintain cloud operations documentation including system architecture diagrams deployment processes and standard operating procedures.
- Participate in oncall rotations to provide support for cloud infrastructure issues and respond to incidents as needed.
- Stay current on industry trends emerging technologies and best practices for cloud operations recommending improvements to cloud architecture and processes.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior engineers ensuring knowledge sharing and the adoption of best practices across the team.
- Drive automation initiatives to improve operational efficiency and reduce manual interventions across the cloud environment.
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Technology Engineering or a related field.
- Proven experience in cloud operations infrastructure engineering or related roles with handson experience managing cloud platforms such as AWS Azure or Google Cloud.
- Strong expertise in managing cloud resources including compute storage networking and security services.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform AWS CloudFormation or Ansible for cloud resource management and automation.
- Strong understanding of cloud networking load balancing autoscaling and multiregion deployment strategies.
- Experience in containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes and experience with orchestrating containers in the cloud.
- Expertise in cloud monitoring tools (e.g. CloudWatch Datadog Prometheus) and logging solutions (e.g. ELK Stack Splunk).
- Understanding of cloud security best practices including IAM encryption network security and compliance frameworks.
- Experience with DevOps principles continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) and automated infrastructure deployments.
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python Bash or PowerShell to automate cloud infrastructure tasks.
- Strong troubleshooting and problemsolving skills with the ability to analyze and resolve complex infrastructure issues.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a remote collaborative environment.
- Experience with cloud cost management and optimization leveraging native tools and thirdparty platforms to optimize cloud spending.
- Federal Experience is a plus.
- Required Security clearance.
