What Youll Do:
The primary objective of the Controller role is to oversee enterprise accounting and provide financial information about the companys activities that will assist the client and its shareholders in making economic company decisions. This is a leadership position that is proactive and solution oriented offering depth of experience to our clients in the fastpaced world of startup accounting. This role should be a superuser and assist in structuring our in progress NetSuite implementation. This position reports to the Director of Global Accounting.
DaytoDay Responsibilities also include:
- Oversee the activities of the accounting department accurate and timely dissemination of financial management reporting including but not limited to internal and external monthly financial statements.
- Oversee compliance with GAAP and relevant regulatory requirements
- Drive the implementation and transformation of accounting processes with Netsuite. SME and superuser having migrated organizations through the full cycle of implementation and stabilization.
- Create and nurture partnerships across global functional roles within our organization including the US and India
- Review and Approve Client Accounting Policies & Procedures including: Setup Cash Flow Capitalization Policy Prepaid Expense Policy Commission Policy New Initiatives
- Develop and mentor finance and accounting team members
- Support managing of finance relationships with Vendors Banks Corporate Credit Cards and Merchant Processors
- Overseeing tax return process facilitating requests from our tax team
- Audit (if required) including: Managing audit process and facilitating requests from audit firm
What Youll Bring:
Must Haves:
- Bachelors Degree in Accounting or Finance required
- 7 years of accounting experience in a fastpaced environment
- 2 years of startup experience
- Exceptional Leadership and team management skills preferably globally focused leveraging an offshore team
- Sophisticated depth of communication analytical and time management skills
- Ability to be a trusted advisor to our internal stakeholders
- Ability to multitask efficiently from a remote work environment
- Maintain high attention to detail and strict deadlines
- Advanced knowledge of Quickbooks Online Netsuite and Microsoft suite especially excel
Nice to Haves:
- CPA and/or Masters Degree preferred

If you are hired at Escalon your final base salary compensation will be determined based on several factors including but not limited to skill set years of experience and the employees geographic location. In addition to those factors we believe in the importance of pay equity and consider internal equity of our current team members as a part of any final offer.
