Job Description
We are looking for a compassionate and committed Elementary Special Education Teacher to guide a selfcontained classroom that supports students with varied learning needs.
This role involves delivering personalized instruction crafting detailed education plans and fostering a structured nurturing environment where students can grow academically socially and emotionally.
Key Duties Overview:
- Plan and Implement Classroom Instruction.
- Develop Individualized Education Plans (IEPs).
- Regularly assess and track student progress toward IEP goals.
- Implement positive behavior interventions and supports (PBIS) to manage classroom behavior.
- Adapt the general curriculum to meet the individual needs of students in the selfcontained classroom.
- Teach core subjects including literacy math and life skills using specialized strategies to support students academic growth.
Requirements
- Valid Illinois teaching certification in Special Education.
- Strong communication organizational and collaboration skills.
- A Bachelor s or Master s degree in Special Education or a related field.
- Prior experience working with children with special needs is preferred.
