The Role
Join us in our R&D team and play a vital role in driving innovation and value for our clients. Youll guide clients through the evolving complexities of R&D tax reliefs offering tailored advice and support to maximise their claims. This is an exciting opportunity to work closely with a small dynamic team gain exposure to varied sectors and help shape the future of our R&D service offering.
Key Responsibilities:
The emphasis on responsibilities will vary depending on the experience of the successful candidate but they include the following:
- Provide specialist advice to clients on R&D tax reliefs focusing on technical tax and financial aspects of the relief schemes.
- Develop and maintain client relationships offering a holistic view of their tax planning and implications of R&D changes.
- Preparation and review of R&D technical and financial reports for submission to HMRC.
- Identify opportunities to optimise claims while navigating legislative complexities.
- Potential to support team members or work independently to progress projects and claims.
- Develop and implement new processes that align with changing industry needs to ensure maximum effectiveness.
Qualifications Knowledge & Experience:
- At least two years experience working within the field of R&D tax credits with an understanding of R&D schemes.
- Ability to adapt to legislative changes such as the upcoming merge scheme.
- Confident in working with clients independently and managing projects endtoend.
- Comfortable reviewing claims produced by others offering feedback and handling financial aspects of claims.
- An understanding of software and techrelated R&D claims which form the majority of the portfolio.
- Some experience in tax planning or broader corporation tax (desireable)
- Exposure to industries such as manufacturing engineering or biotech which complements the firms portfolio (desirable)
While a professional qualification such as ATT/CTA is advantageous candidates with sufficient experience in R&D tax credits will also be considered. We value practical skills and technical understanding alongside formal qualifications.

The Nitty Gritty
- Our standard working week is a 37.5hour week on a hybrid basis (with up to 50% of your time across the month home based and the other 50% office based)
- Core working hours are 10am 4pm Monday to Friday
