Description:
The Director of Rehabilitation Services will:
- Oversee rehabilitation medicine inpatient and outpatient departments and programs.
- Be responsible for administration and direct operation of physical occupational recreational and speech therapies ensuring best practices.
- Be responsible for overall supervision coordination and administration of the department activities including regulatory requirements human resources management business and scope of services and will work collaboratively with other leaders and internal stakeholders to develop maintain and improve patient care programs and operations.
- Follow Clients Policies and Procedures while administering department services and fulfilling community needs. The Director of Rehabilitation Services ensures the department provides excellent customer service to both patients and providers. This position reports directly to the COO/CNO.
Requirements:
- Bachelors degree from an accredited Physical Therapy or Occupational Therapy program
- Masters degree from an accredited Physical Therapy or Occupational Therapy program. (preferred)
- Physical Therapist or Occupational Therapist licensure in good standing in the State of Vermont.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers
- Five years clinical experience.
- Two years management experience.
- Teaching experience.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word Excel Outlook etc.).
- Demonstrated experience leading and supervising a team of direct reports.
- Extraordinary positive attitude exceptional listening skills and strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Critical thinking skills decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a stressful environment.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with hospital staff physicians patients and patients families.
- Ability to maintain confidential information concerning personal financial or medical matters.
- Credibility as a positive role model and mentor to staff.
- Ability to resolve conflicts deal with diverse educational cultural spiritual and socioeconomic backgrounds.
- Proficient in information systems technology and EMR for enterprise management of department.
- Demonstrated knowledge and ability to apply management principles.
- Knowledge of clinical operations including policies procedures processes and system resources.
- Excellent customer service interpersonal communication and clinical skills.
- Facilitator trainer of computer skills (preferred)
