Job Description

We are hiring a Clinical Nurse Specialist in Colorectal and GastroIntestinal in a Private Hospital in Dublin Ireland.

Key Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities
- Work with the multidisciplinary team to oversee and coordinate treatment plans including postoperative care wound care ostomy care and medication management.
- Work with the patient and the MDT to modify the patients condition management in accordance with established pathways and policies procedures protocols and guidelines (PPPGs).
- Accept referrals from MDT colleagues that are appropriate.
- Organise patient followup treatment plans and investigations.
- Assess the patients requirements and offer pertinent support information education guidance and counselling as needed by communicating with the patient family and/or caretaker as needed.
- When necessary collaborate with Primary and Secondary Care MDT colleagues to deliver services to the patient family and/or carer in a seamless manner.
- Support medical and pharmacy professionals by taking part in medication reconciliation while keeping polypharmacy in mind.
Requirements
- Be registered in the general division of the Register of Nurses maintained by NMBI.
- Possess a minimum of two years of nursing experience in a specialised field and at least five years of recent pertinent postregistration nursing experience working fulltime or equivalent hours parttime in an acute hospital setting.
- Possess a major academic award related to the speciality field of colorectal and/or gastrointestinal nursing (or something comparable) at level 8 postregistration Quality and Qualifications Ireland (QQI) National Framework of Qualifications (NFQ) or be willing to obtain one within a year of starting a position.
