Roles and responsibilities
Supervision of Security Personnel
- Manage, oversee, and direct the activities of the security staff, including security guards, officers, and other security personnel.
- Schedule shifts and ensure there are enough security personnel to cover all areas of the facility.
- Train, motivate, and evaluate security staff, ensuring they are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties effectively.
- Provide guidance on security protocols and ensure adherence to company policies, safety standards, and regulations.
2. Monitoring Security Systems
- Oversee and monitor surveillance systems, such as CCTV cameras, alarm systems, and access control systems, to detect and respond to potential threats.
- Ensure the proper functioning of security equipment and initiate maintenance or troubleshooting when necessary.
- Conduct regular checks on security devices and systems to identify and address potential vulnerabilities.
3. Incident Management and Reporting
- Respond to security incidents, including emergencies, breaches, thefts, and accidents.
- Lead investigations into security-related incidents, such as theft, vandalism, or trespassing, and report findings to management or law enforcement if needed.
- Prepare and submit detailed incident reports, documenting any security issues, responses, and outcomes.
- Ensure proper handling of all security-related documents, including daily activity logs and security reports.
4. Safety and Risk Management
- Conduct regular safety audits and inspections of the premises to identify security risks and vulnerabilities.
- Develop and enforce protocols for preventing incidents such as theft, fire, workplace violence, and other emergencies.
- Ensure that all staff and visitors are following security protocols, such as ID checks, bag searches, or access control measures.
- Coordinate emergency evacuation drills and provide staff training on emergency procedures, including fire safety, first aid, and active shooter protocols.
5. Access Control and Monitoring
- Ensure that access control policies are followed, including controlling the entry and exit of employees, visitors, and vendors to secure areas.
- Manage visitor logs, employee badges, and identification checks.
