- Type of Employment: 40 hours per week.
- Period of Performance: 01 January 2025 31 December 2029
- Estimate Pay: $16.00 to $21.50/hourly
Working Hours
Work will be scheduled normally from 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday with a 30minute unpaid lunch break not exceed 40 hours per week.
Mandatory Qualifications
- Completion of a formal Medical Assistant Training Program with at least 6 months of course credit.
- Successful completion of an internship.
- At least 1 year of experience as a Medical Assistant (preferred).
- Current CPR certification.

Preferred Experience:
- Bilingual oral communication skills.
- Experience in a clinical correctional setting.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Possess knowledge of methods techniques and procedures to perform job activities on various types of medical equipment and automated systems and of safety principles and infection control in the patient care environment. Possess the ability to relate and deal effectively with Physicians peers adults in custody and others; to recognize report and record changes in patients physical and emotional condition; and to administer medication.
- Provide nursing care to include taking and recording patient history vital signs making appointments assisting APPs and physicians in clinical activities.
- Draws blood from patients for analysis or other medical purposes. Collect and process Urinalysis collection of DNA specimens.
- Operation of EKG machine spirometers and other special medical apparatus and equipment within the HSU.
- Will assist P As and visiting clinical specialty consultants in the management and coordination of patient flow through the chronic care clinic optometry obstetrics/gynecology and general clinics when scheduled.
- Will assist primary providers in the urgent care room when necessary.
- General nursing duties.
- Receive adults in custody passes pull file and copy medical records and maintain supplies in all exam rooms.
- Screening eye exams and assist physicians and mid level practitioners in minor surgical cases.
- Maintain daily sick call list.
- Perform minor clerical duties such as use of BOP electronic medical record computer documentation and scheduling scanning documents filing typing callouts institutional memorandums answering phones scheduling patients and maintaining stock records.
