Job Description
This is a remote position.
We are seeking a VP Engineering (Backend/FullStack Founding Team) to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the ongoing development of our SAAS platform from the ground up taking ownership of the technical roadmap and executing on it we are looking for someone tactical and strategic who can build today and lead a team of builders tomorrow.
- Develop and maintain the backend infrastructure using Python Django Go Node.js and other relevant technologies.
- Develop and maintain the frontend infrastructure using React and React Native.
- Design and develop RESTful APIs that can scale and integrate with various ecommerce platforms.
- Implement DevOps best practices to ensure platform uptime security and scalability.
- Manage and lead technical operations providing guidance and mentorship to junior developers.
- Stay uptodate with emerging technologies and industry trends and leverage them to continuously improve our platform.
Requirements
- 5 years of experience in Python Django JavaScript Express.js Go Node.js RESTful API Design node.js React and React Native.
- 5 years of DevOps experience including AWS EC2 S3 RDS Nginx automation libraries X11 Linux Ubuntu.
- 5 years of experience in product management including roadmapping cataloguing user feedback and rapid iteration and prototyping.
- Proficient understanding of clientside scripting and JavaScript frameworks (including jQuery) and proficiency with HTML and CSS.
- Strong experience with Puppeteer Selenium and Selendroid is a plus.
- Facilty with peertopeer marketplaces (eBay Etsy Facebook Marketplace Craigslist OfferUp etc.) is a must.
- Experience with eCommerce and Retail platforms is a plus.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Deep understanding of API and nonAPI integrations is a must.
Desired Skills:
- Experience with generative AI tools LLMs and AI integrations.
- Experience with scalable architecture design and implementation.
- Knowledge of machine learning and natural language processing a plus.
- Familiarity with containerization technologies (e.g. Docker Kubernetes).
- Experience with microservices architecture.
- Understanding of Agile software development methodologies.
