JOB SUMMARY:
The Caterpillar Mechanic specializes in the maintenance and repair of Caterpillar machinery to ensure maximum uptime and reliability.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Diagnose mechanical and hydraulic issues in Caterpillar machinery.
2. Repair engines hydraulic systems and powertrains of Caterpillar equipment.
3. Conduct regular preventative maintenance checks.
4. Replace or repair wornout components such as tracks and undercarriages.
5. Test equipment performance postrepair to ensure operability.
6. Use specialized tools and diagnostic equipment for fault identification.
7. Maintain records of repairs and maintenance schedules.
8. Assist with the assembly and disassembly of machinery components.
9. Conduct onsite repairs during breakdowns.
10. Collaborate with the Workshop Manager to ensure resource availability.
11. Train junior staff on Caterpillarspecific repair techniques.
12. Work in compliance with safety and environmental standards.
13. Liaise with manufacturers for parts and technical guidance.
14. Develop and implement innovative solutions for recurring issues.
15. Monitor and maintain spare part inventory for Caterpillar equipment.
Requirements
1015 years of experience working with Caterpillar machinery.
Proficiency in hydraulic and electrical system diagnostics.
Certifications in Caterpillarspecific repair training are an advantage.
