Job Description

Roles and responsibilities

1. Supervising Sales and Service Operations

  • Supervise the daily operations of the home appliances section, ensuring the store meets sales targets and customer satisfaction goals.
  • Monitor the performance of sales staff and ensure they are knowledgeable about the features, benefits, and specifications of home appliances.
  • Ensure that all appliances on display are properly arranged, cleaned, and well-stocked.
  • Oversee customer transactions, ensuring that the sales process is smooth and that customer queries are addressed promptly.

2. Team Leadership and Staff Management

  • Manage and oversee the team of sales associates, repair technicians, and customer service personnel within the home appliances department.
  • Train new employees and provide ongoing training to staff on the latest appliance models, features, and maintenance procedures.
  • Assign roles, responsibilities, and shifts to employees based on the store's needs.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations, provide feedback, and ensure that staff are meeting sales and customer service expectations.

3. Inventory Management and Stock Control

  • Oversee the inventory of home appliances, ensuring that stock levels are adequate to meet customer demand without overstocking.
  • Coordinate with suppliers to restock popular models or items that are running low.
  • Manage the ordering and receiving of products, ensuring the accurate and timely arrival of new stock.
  • Maintain accurate records of sales and stock levels to help with purchasing decisions and prevent shortages.

4. Customer Service and Support

  • Handle escalated customer complaints or issues related to home appliance sales, warranties, returns, or repairs.
  • Ensure customers are provided with accurate product information, and offer expert advice on appliance usage and maintenance.
  • Assist customers in selecting the right appliances based on their needs, preferences, and budgets.
  • Offer solutions for warranty claims, repairs, or exchanges, ensuring a smooth process for the customer.
  • Promote after-sales services, including appliance installation, extended warranties, and maintenance services.

Leadership and Management Skills

  • Ability to lead and motivate a team, providing guidance and support to ensure that employees perform well.
  • Strong decision-making and problem-solving abilities, particularly when handling customer complaints or resolving operational issues.
  • Experience in performance management, including setting goals, evaluating staff, and implementing corrective actions when necessary.

Product Knowledge

  • In-depth knowledge of home appliances, including various brands, features, and technological advancements.
  • Ability to stay updated on new appliance releases and trends in the home appliance industry.
  • Understanding of appliance repair processes and how to communicate technical issues to customers.

Customer Service Orientation

  • Excellent customer service skills, with the ability to interact professionally with customers and resolve issues effectively.
  • Ability to empathize with customers and provide tailored solutions based on their needs.

Sales and Marketing Abilities

  • Strong sales skills, with a focus on meeting or exceeding sales targets.
  • Experience in upselling, cross-selling, and providing customers with additional product options or services.
  • Knowledge of sales techniques and promotions to attract customers and boost sales.

Organizational and Time Management Skills

  • Strong organizational skills to manage inventory, staff schedules, customer orders, and repair appointments.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Technical and Problem-Solving Skills

  • Ability to understand and troubleshoot basic issues with home appliances.
  • Strong problem-solving skills to identify solutions for customers' appliance-related issues or concerns.

Communication Skills

  • Effective communication skills to interact with customers, staff, and management.
  • Ability to provide clear instructions and explanations regarding appliance features, warranties, or maintenance services.
