Key Responsibilities:
- Patient care: Provide basic care such as changing bandages helping with bathing and dressing patients
- Vital signs: Monitor patients vital signs such as blood pressure body temperature and pulse rate
- Patient records: Maintain patient health records and document patient care
- Communication: Discuss care with patients listen to their concerns and report patient status to doctors and registered nurses
- Medication: Administer medications orally or by injection
- Laboratory tests: Collect samples from patients for testing such as blood urine and sputum
- Administrative tasks: Answer patient calls texts and emails and schedule appointments
- Patient teaching: Assist in patient teaching assignments
- IV therapy: May initiate and maintain IV infusions
- Documentation: Prepare documentation in a timely accurate and thorough manner
Qualifications:
- Current Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) certification in Michigan (dont leave home without it!).
- Hospital experience is a plus but were happy to train enthusiastic LVN who love to learn.
- Excellent communication skillsextra points if you can throw in a great dad joke!
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required (but dont worry no capes required).
