Roles and responsibilities
1. Supervision and Leadership of Security Personnel:
- Team Supervision: Lead, train, and manage a team of security officers or guards, ensuring they perform their duties effectively and in accordance with security protocols.
- Shift Management: Schedule shifts and allocate security staff across various areas of the premises to ensure round-the-clock coverage, especially during peak times or high-risk periods.
- Training and Development: Provide ongoing training to security staff on procedures, safety protocols, emergency response, and handling specific situations (e.g., theft, medical emergencies).
- Performance Monitoring: Monitor and evaluate the performance of security staff, providing feedback and corrective action when necessary. Ensure all security personnel meet professional and ethical standards.
- Conflict Resolution: Address any conflicts or performance issues within the security team, resolving them promptly to maintain a harmonious work environment.
2. Risk Assessment and Security Planning:
- Conduct Risk Assessments: Regularly assess potential security risks to the facility or organization, identifying vulnerabilities and recommending improvements to minimize risks.
- Security Protocols and Procedures: Develop, implement, and regularly update security procedures and protocols for the safety of people, property, and assets. This may include guidelines for access control, surveillance, emergency evacuation, and incident reporting.
- Emergency Preparedness: Ensure that security staff are prepared to respond quickly and efficiently to emergencies such as fires, medical emergencies, intrusions, or other critical incidents. Coordinate with local law enforcement or emergency services as needed.
