Job Description

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and detailoriented Indian Accountant to join our finance team at Zouma Consulting Services. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the company s financial records ensuring compliance with Indian accounting standards and providing accurate financial reporting. The candidate must have a deep understanding of Indian taxation laws including GST TDS and Income Tax and be proactive in addressing compliance requirements. Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Accounting:

    • Maintain and manage accurate financial records including ledgers trial balance and balance sheets.
    • Prepare and review journal entries to ensure proper recording of transactions.
    • Ensure adherence to Indian accounting principles and accounting standards (Ind AS/GAAP).

  • GST & Tax Compliance:

    • Prepare and file Goods and Services Tax (GST) returns (GSTR1 GSTR3B GSTR9 etc.).
    • Liaise with tax consultants to manage taxrelated matters including Income Tax and GST.
    • Ensure compliance with Indian tax regulations and ensure timely filings of returns.
    • Handle audits assessments and provide necessary documentation for tax authorities.

  • Financial Reporting:

    • Assist in the preparation of monthly quarterly and annual financial reports for management.
    • Prepare financial statements (P&L Balance Sheet Cash Flow) and management reports on financial performance.
    • Conduct variance analysis and provide actionable insights to improve business performance.

  • Statutory Compliance:

    • Ensure compliance with Indian statutory requirements including TDS GST and Income Tax regulations.
    • Maintain statutory registers and ensure timely submission of filings and returns.
    • Coordinate with external auditors during audits and assist in preparing audit schedules.

  • Accounts Payable & Receivable:

    • Oversee accounts payable and receivable processes to ensure accurate and timely payments.
    • Manage invoicing track payments and follow up on overdue balances.
    • Reconcile outstanding balances with customers and vendors to ensure consistency.

  • Banking & Cash Management:

    • Manage daily banking operations including reconciliations of bank statements and cash flows.
    • Ensure proper authorization and documentation for all payments and receipts.

  • Budgeting & Forecasting:

    • Assist in preparing the company s annual budget and periodic financial forecasts.
    • Monitor actual performance against budget and suggest corrective actions where necessary.

  • Record Keeping & Documentation:

    • Maintain systematic and secure filing of financial documents including invoices receipts and taxrelated documents.
    • Ensure all records are accurate complete and available for review or audit at all times.

Requirements

  • Education:

    • Bachelors degree in Commerce (B.Com) Accounting or Finance.
    • Professional qualifications like CA (Inter) CMA (Inter) or ACCA are preferred.
  • Experience:

    • Minimum 25 years of experience in accounting with a focus on Indian taxation (GST Income Tax TDS).
    • Experience with accounting software (Tally QuickBooks SAP etc.) is essential.
  • Skills & Competencies:

    • Solid understanding of Indian accounting principles and tax regulations.
    • Proficiency in MS Excel and other MS Office applications.
    • Strong attention to detail with an ability to identify discrepancies and resolve issues efficiently.
    • Strong organizational communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure.
