Starter & Caddie Master
Reports to: Golf Operations Manager
Rate of Pay: $25/hr
The Starter & Caddie Master will serve as the main point of contact for golfers at the start of their round and oversee the caddie program to ensure a seamless enjoyable experience for members and guests. This role combines the responsibilities of coordinating tee times managing the flow of play and supervising the caddie team to maintain a high standard of service on the course.
Key Responsibilities:
- Tee Time Management:
- Greet and check in golfers at the 1st tee.
- Organize and coordinate tee times to ensure efficient course flow.
- Communicate any delays or changes to scheduled tee times to the Golf Shop and Player Service.
- Provide players with course information local rules pace of play expectations and other guidelines.
- Course Management:
- Monitor pace of play and ensure adherence to golf course rules.
- Assist in resolving any oncourse disputes or issues.
- Keep an updated record of tee times walkons and cancellations and communicate any changes to the Golf Shop.
- Caddie Program Oversight:
- Assist in recruitment training and scheduling of caddies.
- Coordinate caddie availability and shift acceptance rate.
- Assign caddies to golfers based on availability player needs and caddie skill level.
- Manage and track caddie performance and feedback.
- Ensure all caddies greet their guests in a timely manner.
- Develop and maintain a positive and professional relationship with the caddie team.
- Customer Service:
- Provide excellent customer service to members guests and FGDM colleagues.
- Address any special requests complaints or concerns in a timely and professional manner.
- Promote a welcoming atmosphere for all players.
- Communication and Coordination:
- Liaise with the golf shop grounds crew and other departments to coordinate smooth operations.
- Keep accurate records of daily operations caddie assignments and member preferences.
- Safety and Maintenance:
- Ensure that all golfers and caddies adhere to safety standards.
- Perform light maintenance duties such as checking the tee area and ensuring it is clean and properly equipped.

- Demonstrate excellent communication skills with FGDM colleagues and guests.

Qualifications :
Qualifications:
- Prior experience as a Starter Caddie Master or in a related golf course management/supervisor role.
- Strong knowledge of golf etiquette rules and course management.
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively and efficiently.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Proficient in using computer software and other golf management systems.
- Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays.
- High school diploma or equivalent; further education or relevant certifications are a plus.
Physical Demands:
- Standing and Walking: Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods often up to 8 hours per day on various terrain including grass sand and uneven surfaces.
- Lifting and Carrying: Regularly required to lift and carry up to 30 pounds such as golf bags caddie equipment or other materials.
- Bending and Stooping: Frequent bending stooping and kneeling to assist with equipment set up tee markers or maintain the 1st tee area.
- Outdoor Conditions: Ability to work in various weather conditions including heat cold rain and wind while maintaining a professional and courteous demeanor.
- Visual and Auditory Demands: Must have good vision and hearing to monitor golfers caddies and course activity as well as to communicate effectively.
- Manual Dexterity: Ability to handle small tools golfrelated equipment and perform light maintenance tasks as needed.
