Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Wet Painter who will assist in a variety of functions associated with wet paint tasks as needed. This role will work under the close direction of the Department Manager. You are responsible for preparing and painting various sheet metal products. You will be required to lift and handle parts mask/unmask mix paint and perform any touchup needed for final packaging as well as select and mix paints per provided specifications to thin or promote drying and adhesion.
Key Responsibilities:
The Painter has the responsibility for spray equipment to apply paint of all types to surfaces of various products per work instructions and the Job Traveler.
OBJECTIVES:
- Select/mix appropriate paints according to predetermined formulas documented on customer/company documents.
- Adjust and operate handheld coating tools to coat products to desired specifications.
- Coat all size items from small to large applying touch ups when necessary.
- Exercises safe handling of all equipment and paints as instructed.
- Quality inspects all products throughout the production process reporting any inconsistencies in accordance with company policy and procedures.
- Maintains accurate records in paper and digital formats.
- Keeps an accurate report of inventory in work area.
- Understands and proactively sets up jobs based off operating procedures and diagrams.
- Shows an initiative to recommend process procedure and/or policy improvements to minimize production costs.
- Clean and maintain all coating tools including but not limited to brushes paint guns workstation and PPE.
OTHER DUTIES:
- Understand and interpret quality criteria to be used and effectively implemented.
- Run samples for the Quality Assurance Department when instructed.
- Use proper time management skills to make sure all production deadlines are met.
- Support the overall reduction of production costs through organizing and maintaining workstations and inventory levels.
- Exercise responsible personal protective equipment at all times.
- Possible participation in the Safety Committee
- Other duties or support of other departments as assigned
Qualifications:
- 24 years of qualified experience.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
Hours:
- Full Time 40 hours per week
- Monday Friday
