The Fairmont is looking for a proven master mixologist who is passionate about the art of hand crafted cocktails to give our guests the full San Francisco experience!
Come be a part of one of the most historical and sought out bars in San Francisco! Tonga Room has been recognized as one of the nations hottest bars by InStyle Gourmet Travel & Leisure Harpers Bazaar and Wallpaper magazines and has been recently featured on ABC Travel Channel & Food Network Located at The Fairmont San Francisco Tonga Room & Hurricane Bar has delighted guests with its tropical decor decadent libations and Asian cuisine since 1945. Having reigned as a swanky outpost of South Seas high style for much of its storied history Tonga Room more recently gained a following as an icon of tikis pop culture heyday of the 1940s and 1950s. Following a $1 million restoration by Gensler San Francisco Tonga Room has rekindled the excitement of its unique and timehonored Accor to recapture the glory of one of the nations first tiki palaces.
What you will be doing:
Reporting to the Tonga Room General Manager responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:
- Consistently offer professional friendly and engaging service
- Proven mixology knowledge and experience.
- Maintain a professional but engaging interaction with Tonga Room guests and colleagues.
- Assist guests regarding all beverage menu items in an informative and helpful way
- Mix drinks and control the beverage stock as per guidelines
- Have full knowledge of beverage lists and promotions
- Have full knowledge of all menu items garnishes contents and preparation methods
- Follow outlet policies procedures and service standards
- Follow all safety and sanitation policies when handling food and beverage
- Other duties as assigned
Your skills and experience include:
- Proven master of mixology preferred.
- Excellent knowledge of all beverage products
- Previous point of sale system experience an asset
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities
- Highly responsible & reliable
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast paced environment
- Ability to work cohesively with fellow colleagues as part of a team
- Ability to focus attention on guest needs remaining calm and courteous at all times
Physical Aspects of Position (include but are not limited to):
- Constant standing and walking throughout shift
- Frequent lifting and carrying up to 20 lbs
- Occasional kneeling pushing pulling lifting
- Occasional ascending or descending ladders stairs and ramps
