Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the sales team to forecast demand and align with both domestic and international suppliers for timely deliveries ensuring inventory levels meet market requirements and manufacturing constraints.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive global supply plan based on forecasts production capabilities and strategic objectives ensuring optimal sourcing and supplier accountability.
- Maintain active relationships with suppliers and vendors ensuring compliance with delivery timelines and quality standards and support weekly operations like purchase orders freight tracking and inventory management.
- Work with the inventory control team to monitor inventory levels proactively prevent stockouts and refine processes for improved procurement and cost efficiency.
- Lead costreduction initiatives manage supplier performance metrics and resolve any issues related to operations purchasing or quality while supporting process optimization across procurement activities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree or equivalent experience in supply chain procurement or a related field.
- At least 10 years of experience in a similar role with a background in supply chain management buying or procurement.
- Knowledge of imports and international supply chains particularly with products sourced from regions like Greece Turkey Egypt and others.
- Certification from ISM or APICS is required and familiarity with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and software such as Great Plains (GP) and Korber is a plus.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite especially Excel with strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills to manage multiple responsibilities effectively.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Extensive experience in global supply chain operations with a strong focus on food importation and distribution.
- Proven ability to build and maintain longterm supplier relationships with a history of cost savings and efficiency improvements.
- Advanced certifications in supply chain management (e.g. CSCP CPSM) are highly desirable.
- Experience with sourcing from Mediterranean regions (e.g. Greece Turkey Egypt) and understanding of regulatory compliance in these markets.
- Strong analytical skills with demonstrated success in using software tools like Great Plains (GP) Korber and Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) for supply chain optimization.
- Familiarity with food industry standards and experience managing procurement in highvolume operations.
