To develop and implement personalized exercise programmes for guests who request private sessions and for those who would benefit from personal instruction.
To provide one-to-one Personal Training when required.
To provide Fitness Consultations for arriving guests.
To assist guests with retail purchases where required.
To handle any guest complaints and refer to the Supervisor or Manager where necessary.
Conducting Fitness Classes: Lead group fitness classes such as yoga, Pilates, spinning, Zumba, strength training, or aerobics, ensuring exercises are safe, effective, and appropriate for all participants.
Personal Training: Provide one-on-one coaching for clients, designing personalized workout programs based on their fitness levels, goals, and preferences.
Demonstrating Exercises: Demonstrate proper exercise techniques and correct form to ensure clients perform exercises safely and effectively.
Assessing Fitness Levels: Evaluate clients’ current fitness levels, including strength, flexibility, and endurance, to create tailored fitness plans and track progress.
Motivating Clients: Offer encouragement, motivation, and positive reinforcement to help clients stay engaged and achieve their fitness goals.
Providing Nutrition Guidance: Offer basic advice on healthy eating habits and how nutrition impacts fitness progress (within scope of practice).
Monitoring Progress: Track clients' progress, providing feedback, making adjustments to their fitness plans, and celebrating milestones to keep them motivated.
Ensuring Safety: Monitor participants during exercises to ensure proper form and prevent injuries. Maintain a safe workout environment by ensuring equipment is in good working order and rooms are free from hazards.
Group and Individual Support: Engage with individuals and groups, creating a positive, encouraging atmosphere where clients feel comfortable and supported.
Staying Informed on Trends: Keep up-to-date with the latest fitness trends, techniques, and certifications to ensure the delivery of current and effective programs.
Maintaining Equipment: Ensure fitness equipment is properly maintained and cleaned, reporting any faulty equipment to the management or maintenance team.
Internationally recognized personal training certification.
A minimum of 1-year experience in a similar position preferably in the hospitality industry.
In-depth Knowledge of Fitness: A strong understanding of exercise science, anatomy, and different fitness modalities, including strength training, cardio, flexibility, and recovery techniques.
Instructional Skills: Ability to explain exercises and fitness techniques clearly, breaking down complex movements into manageable steps for clients of all levels.
Motivational Skills: Ability to inspire and motivate clients, creating a supportive and encouraging environment that promotes positive results.
Communication Skills: Strong verbal communication skills to provide clear instructions, feedback, and encouragement, both in group and one-on-one settings.
Adaptability: Flexibility to modify exercises based on clients' needs, adjusting intensity, and offering alternatives to accommodate different fitness levels or physical limitations.
Time Management: Ability to manage a diverse group of clients or class participants, ensuring that everyone receives attention and that sessions are conducted within the scheduled time frame.
Empathy and Patience: Understanding of clients' challenges and progress, with the ability to be patient and provide emotional support during difficult moments.
First Aid & CPR Knowledge: Knowledge of basic first aid, CPR, and emergency procedures in case of an injury or health-related emergency during exercise.
Teamwork: Ability to work collaboratively with other fitness professionals, gym staff, and management to create a positive environment for clients and ensure smooth operations.
Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to quickly adapt to unforeseen circumstances or challenges (e.g., adjusting a workout plan due to an injury or equipment failure).
