Position: DCS Research/Data Analyst Senior
Location: Atlanta GA 30334

Job Description:
JOB SUMMARY
- Under broad supervision performs complex administrative duties and statistical financial or operational data analysis and reporting in support of management decision making in the functional area.
- Identifies trends discrepancies and variances to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of operations.
- May partner with other departments divisions outside agencies and vendors to address business issues.
- Exercises various latitudes of independent judgment.
- May administer or provide highlevel support for various projects grants contracts implementation of procedures and/or any specialized functions.
- Assists with orientation training or providing task guidance of junior team members.
- Provides strategic analysis.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform job responsibilities with minimal supervision
- Extract primary data from Oracle Database with the use of SQL
Interpret data analyse results using statistical techniques and provide ongoing reports - Provide timely and accurate data to fulfill internal and external data requests
- Identify compile and clean data for research projects
- Identify analyse and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets
- Oversee evaluation and research projects
- Communicate the evaluation plan and its details to leadership and stakeholders
- Collaborate with external research partners to ensure understanding of data points and data sets
- Develop and monitor internal and external data requests
- Manage summarize and analyze quantitative and/or qualitative data
- Summarize and explain research findings and their implications
- Prepare findings for publication
- Develop review and abstract published research
- Produce data visualization dashboards with Tableau
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelors degree in a related field from an accredited college or university AND Two years in a related lead or supervisory role OR Associates degree in a related field from an accredited college or university AND Four years of related experience Two years of which in a related lead or supervisory role OR Two years of experience at the lower level IT Business Analyst or position equivalent.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Strong knowledge of and experience with reporting packages (Business Objects etc) databases (SQL Oracle etc) programming (XML Javascript or ETL frameworks)
- Significant experience in accessing and extracting data from organizational and/or other institutional databases
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect organize analyze and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
- 2 years of relevant work experience in the Criminal Justice field and/or Data Management/Analysis
- Proficient skills in queries report writing and presenting findings
- Experience in data visualization software (i.e. Tableau)
