Job Description
Position : Construction Estimator
Working Schedule : 8AM 5PM EST
Salary Range : $1300 to $1600 (the final salary will be determined by the candidate's level and years of experience and at the discretion of the client)
Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and detailoriented Construction Estimator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the bid process from initial invitation to bid through project handoff ensuring that all estimates are accurate comprehensive and competitive. The Estimator will collaborate with various stakeholders including subcontractors landlords and clients to ensure that all project requirements and regulations are met.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create invitation to bid
- Select subcontractors
- Contact landlord for regulations and site requirements
- Review project documents and drawings
- Create RFI’s (to client or architect)
- Answer subcontractor RFI’s
- Subcontractor bid reviews
- Build project estimate
- Prepare bid qualifications
- Create bid package presentation and submit
- Client bid reviews Project Interviews
- Subcontractor awards
- Create subcontractor LOI’s
- Create subcontractor agreement templates per trade
- Load budget into Procore
- Perform handoff meetings with Project Manager
- Attend Post Project Review meetings
Skills:
Technical skills – Knowledgeable of construction trades and able to effectively apply those skills to understand contracts technical drawings analyze proposals specifications blueprints and construction documents in order to fully understand and interpret those technical documents.
Analytical skills – Able to build a project cost estimate by analyzing the time labor and material costs of a project. Proficient in mathematics statistics and data analysis. Effective in the use of analytic tools such as spreadsheets and database managers.
Attention to detail Knows how to prepare bid qualifications package a presentation and follow up for review and revisions and build mutually beneficial relationships with coworkers clients subcontractors and vendors based on understanding and respect. Anticipates and responds timely to client and subcontractor needs.
Time management skills – Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively to meet deadlines. Communication to clients within a timely manner.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 35 years of experience in construction estimating or a similar role.
- Proficiency in estimating software and tools
- Strong understanding of construction processes materials and cost structures.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work under tight deadlines and handle multiple projects simultaneously
- College Degree
