Riggins Company is seeking a reliable and detailoriented Tool Room Attendant to join our operations team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining an organized and efficient tool room ensuring the proper storage tracking and distribution of tools and equipment used in production. This role is essential for minimizing downtime and ensuring the availability of necessary tools to support daily manufacturing operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Tool Inventory Management:
o Receive inspect and store tools and equipment in accordance with established
procedures.
o Monitor inventory levels and report shortages or damaged tools to the supervisor.
o Maintain accurate records of tool issuance returns and repairs.
o Conduct regular inventory audits and cycle counts to ensure accurate stock levels.
Tool Distribution and Return:
o Issue tools and equipment to operators and maintenance staff as requested.
o Ensure tools are returned on time in good condition and with proper documentation.
Tool Maintenance and Calibration:
o Perform basic maintenance and cleaning of tools to ensure they are in good working
condition.
o Coordinate with maintenance staff for tool repairs or calibration as needed.
Safety Compliance:
o Adhere to all safety procedures and regulations while handling tools and equipment.
o Maintain a clean and safe working environment in the tool room.
o Report safety hazards or unsafe working conditions to management.
Recordkeeping and Reporting:
o Maintain accurate records of tool usage repairs and disposals.
o Assist in the preparation of reports related to tool usage repairs and inventory
management.
Other Duties:
o Assist in other operational tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
o Provide support to other team members or departments as needed.
Qualifications:
Education:
o High School diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training is a plus.
Experience:
o Previous experience in a tool room warehouse or similar environment is preferred but
not required.
o Knowledge of basic tools equipment and inventory management principles is a plus.
Skills and amp; Abilities:
o Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
o Basic mechanical aptitude to understand tool functions and maintenance needs.
o Ability to operate basic hand tools and power tools safely.
o Good communication skills for coordinating with other staff and teams.
o Ability to lift and move heavy tools and equipment up to 50 pounds.
Certifications:
o Forklift certification may be required depending on the role and tools/equipment being
handled (or ability to obtain upon hire).
Physical Requirements:
o Ability to stand bend lift and move materials throughout the day.
o Must be able to work in a physically demanding environment (temperature variations
noise etc.).
Working Conditions:
Fulltime Monday through Friday (with possible overtime depending on production schedules).
Work environment includes a tool room warehouse and manufacturing floor.
