Job Title: EHS Specialist / EHS Manager
We are seeking a detailoriented and proactive Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Professional to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing implementing and maintaining EHS programs to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and promote a safe and sustainable workplace.
Key Responsibilities:
Environmental Management:
- Ensure compliance with local national and international environmental regulations.
- Develop and implement waste management pollution control and resource conservation programs.
- Monitor environmental metrics such as air quality water quality waste disposal and hazardous material handling.
- Prepare and submit required environmental permits and reports to regulatory authorities.
- Conduct environmental impact assessments and sustainability initiatives.
Health and Safety Programs:
- Create implement and update EHS policies procedures and training programs.
- Conduct regular safety inspections risk assessments and audits to identify potential hazards.
- Investigate workplace incidents and accidents identifying root causes and recommending corrective actions.
- Develop emergency response plans including fire drills evacuation procedures and crisis management protocols.
- Ensure the proper use and maintenance of personal protective equipment (PPE).
Compliance and Reporting:
- Stay updated on evolving EHS regulations and standards and ensure the organization s compliance.
- Maintain accurate records of incidents inspections and corrective actions.
- Provide regular reports and presentations to management on EHS performance and improvements.
- Interface with regulatory agencies during inspections and audits.
Training and Awareness:
- Design and deliver EHS training programs for employees at all levels.
- Foster a culture of safety and environmental awareness across the organization.
- Organize workshops campaigns and events to promote EHS best practices.
Continuous Improvement:
- Monitor industry trends and innovations to enhance EHS processes.
- Implement new tools and technologies to improve safety and environmental sustainability.
- Collaborate with crossfunctional teams to drive EHS initiatives and maintain alignment with business goals.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Educational Background:
- Bachelors or Master s degree in Environmental Science Occupational Health and Safety Engineering or related field.
- EHS certifications such as NEBOSH OSHA ISO 45001 or ISO 14001 are highly preferred.
Technical Expertise:
- Strong knowledge of EHS regulations standards and best practices (e.g. OSHA EPA ISO standards).
- Experience with hazard identification risk assessment and mitigation strategies.
- Familiarity with environmental impact assessments and sustainability frameworks.
Soft Skills:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with employees management and external stakeholders.
- Analytical mindset with problemsolving and decisionmaking capabilities.
- Leadership skills to influence and drive organizational EHS culture.
Experience:
- 8 years in EHS roles within manufacturing construction healthcare or related industries.
- Handson experience with incident investigation EHS audits and emergency response planning.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in managing EHS software tools or digital platforms.
- Expertise in sustainability initiatives and reporting (e.g. carbon footprint reduction ESG reporting).
- Multilingual skills to handle diverse workforce environments.
