Job Description
The Depot Controller will ensure seamless daytoday depot operations optimizing bus dispatch driver allocation and safety compliance to deliver efficient & reliable transportation services
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and monitor bus dispatches to assigned routes resolving operational issues utilizing realtime tracking systems to identify delays or deviations
- Oversee driver allocation ensuring optimal route and shift assignments based on factors like driver experience vehicle availability and route complexity
- Coordinate with bus station supervisors for efficient bus movement sharing scheduling and dispatching information to minimize congestion
- Ensure adherence to safety regulations standards and procedures conducting regular inspections and audits
- Work alternating shifts day and evening to oversee operational schedules providing onsite support during peak hours
- Collaborate with depot teams ensuring seamless service delivery sharing operational insights and best practices
- Analyze operational data identifying trends and areas for improvement developing strategies to optimize routes and schedules
- Develop and implement contingency plans for disruptions identifying potential risks and backup strategies
- Conduct driver performance evaluations providing constructive feedback identifying training needs
- Maintain accurate records of dispatches driver allocations and operational incidents reviewing records to identify areas for improvement
Minimum Qualifications Certificates & Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Transportation LogisticsOperations Management or related field
- 3 years of experience in transportation operations depot management or fleet management
- Certified Transportation Manager (CTM) Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Certification or equivalent is a plus
- Strong understanding of Operational management & logistics Leadership & team management and Problemsolving & decisionmaking
