Job Description
pattern masters job is to create patterns for a final product based on design details. They plan and prepare the patternmaking process inspect and validate the pattern and create patterns using ordinary tools and materials.
Here are some skills and responsibilities of a pattern master:
Design interpretation: Read and interpret design details to create patterns
Mathematical skills: Make calculations and measurements
Communication skills: Have good written and oral communication skills
Patience: Be patient and tenacious for long hours of standing work
Detail orientation: Be detail oriented imaginative creative and analytic
Fine motor skills: Have fine motor skills
Technical ruler: Use a special technical ruler to draw accurate lines add seam allowances and mark grainlines
Pattern masters should also be able to organize and maintain work areas and activities and use materials efficiently to minimize wastage.
meeting with clients virtually or during sales visits. demonstrating and presenting products. establishing new business. maintaining accurate records. attending trade exhibitions, conferences and meetings. reviewing sales performance. negotiating contracts and packages.
