Responsibilities
- Promote safety as a continuous improvement program and ensure employees are constantly committed to this process.
- Maintain continuous oversight of all workplace environmental and safety programs including accident investigations recordkeeping compliance assurance OSHA logs and facilities corrective action lists.
- Facilitate safety training and learning programs for employee and management development and regulatory compliance.
- Ongoing audit and inspection of operations and preparation and coordination of solutions for compliance with safety and environmental concerns.
- Facilitate the investigation of accidents to identify causes or to determine how such accidents might be prevented.
- Recommend measures to help protect people from hazardous work methods processes or materials.
- Examine permits licenses applications and records to ensure compliance with requirements.
- Assist the EHS Manager with the execution of environmental and safetyrelated programs and initiatives.
- Participate in project management to ensure new equipment layouts and other improvements meet safety and 5S standards.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in industrial safety environmental science or other relevant technical degree and 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to communicate effectively with individuals and teams to lead EHS initiatives.
- Attention to detail while managing multiple projects and prioritizing work.
- Ability to cooperate with various departments regulatory agencies and local government.
- Knowledge of corporate ESG efforts and processes preferred.
- Selfmotivated and able to work independently to find solutions.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications (Word Excel PowerPoint Outlook)
Physical and Environmental Requirements
- Lifting: Able to lift 50 pounds unassisted.
- Environment: Work in a facility with loud noise extreme temperatures and environmental stressors.
- Physical Activities: Sit stand walk bend climb crouch reach and grasp as needed.
- PPE: Wear the required PPE including eye and hearing protection gloves and safety toe footwear.
- Dexterity and Vision: Manual dexterity and specific vision abilities (close distance color peripheral depth perception and focus adjustment).
- Stamina: Stand for long shifts.
- Skills: Effective communication basic math skills and teamwork.
- Safety: Adhere to safety protocols and address hazards.
