Job Summary
Dahl Memorial Healthcare seeks a skilled and dedicated Dietary Manager to join our Dietary Services team. The Dietary manager will oversee dietary employees and ensure that Dietary standards are consistently met. This role is crucial in leading and managing a team of employees to provide nutritious and wellprepared meals to our patients staff and visitors. This position is eligible for a $5000 sign on bonus for a 2year commitment!
Education and Certification:
- High School Diploma or GED (required).
- Associates or Bachelors Degree in Nutrition Dietetics Food Service Management or a related field (preferred).
- Certified Dietary Manager (CDM) or Dietetic Technician Registered (DTR) (preferred or must be obtained within a specified time frame after hire).
- ServSafe Certification or equivalent food safety certification (required or must be obtained within a specified time after hire).
Experience:
- Minimum of 23 years of experience in food service management in a healthcare setting such as a hospital longterm care facility or similar environment.
- Experience managing a team of kitchen staff including hiring training and scheduling.
- Experience with menu planning and nutritional analysis to meet patient dietary requirements including specialized diets.
Skills:
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations including:
- HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points) standards for identifying and controlling food safety hazards throughout the food production process.
- The Joint Commission (TJC) Standards which include guidelines for dietary services food safety and nutritional assessments in hospitals.
- Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) Guidelines which outline regulations for food and nutrition services in hospitals emphasizing patient safety and dietary compliance.
- State and Local Health Department Regulations which set specific requirements for food service operations within healthcare facilities.
- Strong organizational and leadership skills including the ability to manage staff inventory and budgets.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with staff patients and other healthcare providers.
- Basic computer skills including familiarity with dietary management software Microsoft Office and inventory management systems.
