Position Tooling Engineer
Location Bangalore
Experience 58 years
Salary 812 LPA
We are looking for an experienced Tooling Engineer with 58 years in designing and developing tooling concepts particularly for the railway or heavy industries for a client for Bangalore Location. The ideal candidate will have expertise in CATIA V5 and DMA a solid understanding of GD&T and experience in creating and automating tools welding fixtures and assembly fixtures. This role will involve collaboration with crossfunctional teams overseeing supplier manufacturing progress and ensuring design reviews and validations are executed effectively.

Roles and Responsibilities
- Develop new tooling concepts during the project development phase under the guidance of the Tooling Manager and Project Industrialization Manager.
- Design various tools including welding fixtures assembly fixtures and lifting tackles using CATIA V5 and DMA.
- Implement hydraulic and pneumatic automation for welding and assembly fixtures.
- Conduct design reviews and Design Approval Process (DAP) with stakeholders incorporating feedback and addressing previous recommendations and improvement areas.
- Create detailed 2D drawings in CATIA V5 specifying critical dimensions manufacturing tolerances and GD&T.
- Monitor and follow up with suppliers on manufacturing progress implementing any required modifications or improvements during production and validation.
- Conduct fixture inspection validation and trials addressing any concerns raised during trials with Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA).
Requirements
- 58 years of experience in tooling design preferably in the railway or heavy industries.
- Proficiency in CATIA V5 and DMA with strong knowledge of GD&T.
- Solid experience in developing and automating tools especially welding and assembly fixtures.
- Familiarity with hydraulic and pneumatic systems for automation in tooling applications.
- Strong project management skills and experience in supplier management.
- Proven track record of conducting design reviews obtaining stakeholder signoff and performing trials and validations for tooling projects.
