We are recruiting for an Operations Manager with experience of Hard Landscaping within the new build sector and is living within commuting distance of St Albans. On offer is a salary of up to 48000 per year (negotiable based on experience) plus car or car allowance the opportunity for progression and hybrid working.
As the Operations Manager you will be joining a company that specialises in outdoor space design and construction projects for both residential and commercial developments across the UK. Their clients include housing developers local authorities holiday parks private clients etc. with projects including hard & soft landscaping playground installations skate parks gym zones sports pitches padel courts safety surfacing etc.
As the Operations Manager you will be:
- Travelling to sites across the UK.
- Working to ensure all allocated projects are delivered safely on time to budget to contractual specifications meet both financial and quality requirements and are completed to Client s satisfaction.
- Offering best in sector customer service.
- Ensuring the financial integrity and resource planning of projects.
- Ensuring all prestart processes are followed that site surveys risk essments and od statements are prepared ahead of installation and that any site specific requirements are noted and communicated to the build team.
- Supporting senior management and sales teams in pretender meetings and throughout the tender process including client facing meetings.
- Liaising with a variety of customers including house builders local authorities commercial developers private clients etc.
- Responsible for project scheduling and managing prestart meetings site visits and inspections liaising with subcontractors and for site handover to clients.
- Developing strong relationships with key clients and managing multiple projects at a time.
Requirements
As the Operations Manager you will need:
- A good grounding and understanding of hard landscaping installation projects.
- Experience of the new build housing sector (private & social housing).
- Strong administration project scheduling and management ss.
- Experience of managing and motivating directly employed and subcontractor teams.
- An eye for detail and be used to achieving high standard construction projects.
- To be a confident communicator with the ability to work with customers to manage their expectations resolving any issues etc.
- To be proactive in seeing opportunities for additional and new business opportunities.
- To be used to both the operational and administration side of construction project management and be confident in your ability to plan schedule amend or rearrange projects as required.
- To be happy to travel to sites across the UK.
- Experience in working under a JCT form of Contract and managing subcontractor orders.
