YOUR LIFE AS A DOG ENRICHMENT SPECIALIST
In this animal care position you are a favorite with the dogs in our care. The pooches might think the enrichment activities are just for fun but you know the pups are learning too. As you lead the activities the coordinator determines you keep a close eye on the pets in order to report on their conduct and to be sure that theyre safe. You check that the equipment and obstacles are secure and that the animals arent overly stressed. Welltrained yourself you use praise and redirection techniques to maintain acceptable levels of play. When the playgroup ends you perform a variety of other tasks such as cleaning and organizing to ensure that our facility remains in perfect shape for the pets. Its a fun day for you and the pooches. WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU!
Work experience in providing animal care
Ability to get dogs to respond to training cues
Basic understanding of positive reinforcement in training
Ability to perform the physical requirements for the job including the capacity to lift up to 25 pounds
A high school diploma or the equivalent is preferred. If you can meet these requirements and perform this job as described above we would be happy to have you as part of our animal care team!
