Job Description
We are seeking a Supplier Manufacturing Engineer with a minimum of 5 years experience to join our dynamic team. The role involves creating statements of work processes procedures and production layouts for the manufacturing of tooling assemblies machining and material handling equipment. Candidates with composite manufacturing expertise are highly preferred.
This position will work closely with the tooling design team and inhouse fabrication group to convert complex tooling designs into instructions for suppliers. The engineer will act as a liaison between manufacturing suppliers and the tooling group and ensure supplier adherence to quality cost and schedule standards.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop tooling packages for supplier bid processes in collaboration with the procurement team.
- Read analyze and evaluate complex GD&T drawings identifying any missing or deficient information.
- Track and monitor supplier performance providing technical support related to tool manufacturing.
- Use computeraided design (CAD) software to assist suppliers in manufacturing tooling.
- Identify and recommend improvements or revisions to tool design layouts.
- Collaborate with crossfunctional teams including Design Analysis Quality Materials and Manufacturing to meet all tooling requirements.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and activities related to estimating RFQ/RFP/RFI and ROM pricing.
- Education: Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering Aerospace Engineering or a related engineering/scientific discipline.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years experience in a manufacturing engineering facility or equivalent.
- Preferred Skills/Experience:
- Composite manufacturing experience.
- CAD solid modeling and drafting experience especially with NX/CATIA.
- Proficiency in GD&T best practices.
- Experience with MS Office Suite (Word Excel PowerPoint).
- Background in tooling design mechanical assemblies and manufacturing.
- Demonstrated ability for continuous improvement initiatives.
- Selfmotivated with strong interpersonal skills; able to work both independently and in teams.
- Strong oral and written communication documentation and presentation skills.
- Ability to effectively prioritize and manage time.
