Roles and responsibilities
1. Production and Operations Management:
- Supervise Daily Operations: Oversee the daily activities of the production floor, ensuring that manufacturing processes run smoothly and efficiently.
- Monitor Production Targets: Ensure that production targets are met in terms of quantity, quality, and deadlines.
- Manage Workflow: Coordinate workflows and ensure all stages of the production process (e.g., raw material handling, assembly, packaging, etc.) are executed as planned.
- Troubleshoot Production Issues: Address and resolve operational bottlenecks, machinery breakdowns, and quality issues to minimize downtime and disruption.
- Ensure Product Quality: Maintain and enforce strict adherence to quality control standards and processes to ensure products meet required specifications.
2. Team Leadership and Management:
- Team Supervision: Lead and manage a team of workers (e.g., machine operators, line workers, packers) to ensure efficiency and productivity.
- Training and Development: Provide training to new team members and on-the-job coaching to existing employees to improve skills and operational knowledge.
- Schedule Shifts: Organize work shifts and manage staff resources to ensure production runs smoothly and that labor requirements are met.
- Employee Motivation: Foster a positive work environment by motivating the team, setting clear goals, and resolving any conflicts or grievances that arise.
- Performance Monitoring: Track individual and team performance through KPIs, identifying areas for improvement and providing feedback to employees.
3. Inventory and Materials Management:
- Monitor Stock Levels: Ensure that raw materials, packaging materials, and other inventory needed for production are available and properly managed.
- Inventory Optimization: Work closely with the procurement and supply chain teams to ensure inventory is optimized, reducing waste and preventing shortages that could delay production.
- Warehouse Coordination: Coordinate with the warehouse team to ensure timely storage and retrieval of materials required for production.
4. Quality Control and Compliance:
- Enforce Quality Standards: Implement and ensure adherence to quality assurance and control standards, ensuring that products meet both internal specifications and external regulations.
- Conduct Inspections: Regularly inspect products, equipment, and processes to identify and resolve any potential quality issues.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with local and international safety, environmental, and food/consumer product regulations as applicable.
