Job Description

Roles and responsibilities

1. Customer Service and Support:

  • Greeting Customers: Welcome customers with a friendly and approachable attitude, creating a positive first impression.
  • Answering Inquiries: Address customer questions regarding products, services, or policies. Provide relevant information about store offerings, menu items, service packages, etc.
  • Resolving Customer Complaints: Handle customer concerns or complaints promptly and professionally, striving to resolve issues to the customer’s satisfaction. Escalate more serious issues to a supervisor or manager if necessary.
  • Assisting with Requests: Respond to customer requests or needs, whether it’s providing assistance with selecting products, guiding them through a service process, or helping with navigation around a location or facility.
  • Providing Recommendations: Offer suggestions or guidance based on customer preferences, helping to enhance their experience.

2. Service Delivery and Execution:

  • Serving Customers: In a food or hospitality setting, take customer orders, serve food or drinks, and ensure the timely delivery of services. Ensure that all orders are accurate and meet the expected quality standards.
  • Completing Transactions: Process payments (cash, card, mobile payments, etc.), handle cash or register transactions accurately, and provide receipts.
  • Maintaining Service Areas: Keep service areas clean and organized, whether it's a dining area, retail floor, or customer service desk. Set up, clean, and maintain areas before, during, and after customer service interactions.
  • Managing Service Operations: Depending on the setting, assist with organizing or managing specific service operations, such as restocking products, preparing orders, or setting up equipment.

3. Product and Service Knowledge:

  • Product Knowledge: Have a thorough understanding of the products or services offered to customers. Be prepared to explain features, pricing, and benefits to customers and provide accurate recommendations.
  • Special Offers and Promotions: Be aware of any sales, promotions, or special offers and communicate these to customers to help them take advantage of deals.
  • Adherence to Standards: Follow company guidelines, policies, and service standards to ensure quality and consistency in the services provided.

4. Maintaining Cleanliness and Organization:

  • Cleaning and Sanitation: Maintain cleanliness in customer-facing areas, ensuring that service areas, tables, countertops, and restrooms are tidy and hygienic. In food service, ensure food preparation and dining areas are sanitized regularly.
